Abel Damasceno Moura is an experienced music professional currently serving as a Teaching Artist at Living Jazz, Get Empowered!, and Cheza Nami Foundation, Inc. since August 2022. Abel has a long history as a Music Director for self-employed projects since 2008 and is also a Stagehand for the Stern Grove Festival Association since May 2017. Additional roles include Music Instructor at Music in Schools Today and a musician with Sambada. As the Music Director for the Batala Brazilian Percussion Group, Abel specializes in creating music and conducting performances. Previous experience includes serving as a Music Instructor for Bay Area Community Resources and as a Musical Director for BrasArte. Abel holds a Music in Business degree from SAE Expression College and has pursued further education at various institutions, including Laney College and the City College of San Francisco.
