James Brown

Post-doctoral Fellow at Stellenbosch University

James Brown is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Stellenbosch University since July 2017, specializing in the independent auditing of World Rugby's head injury assessment database and implementing research projects related to concussion assessment and player performance. In addition to this role, James serves as a data analysis consultant at SSISA High Performance Centre and has extensive experience in data analysis and report writing with the South African Rugby Union, including responsibilities for the BokSmart initiative. Previous consultancy work includes occupational injury risk assessments, while earlier positions also involved coaching rugby at Wynberg Boys' High School. James holds multiple degrees in Public Health, Exercise Science, and Kinesiology, culminating in a Ph.D. from the University of Cape Town.
