Gareth Erfort currently serves as an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Stellenbosch University since January 2020. Additionally, Gareth holds the position of Lead Wind Engineer and Senior Wind Analyst at EDF Renewables (South Africa) since July 2023, and previously worked as a Renewable Energy Engineer and Atmospheric Modeler at ArcVera Renewables from January 2023 to June 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Principal Engineer at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) from January 2022 to January 2023, and Lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch from January 2016 to December 2019. Earlier roles comprised Project Engineer at DEME Group from 2011 to 2013 and Junior Mechanical Engineer at CSIR from January 2008 to May 2011 while completing educational qualifications. Gareth holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University (2014-2019), a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (2007-2009), and a Bachelor's Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (2002-2006).
