Rone Baldwin is the current Business Advisor at Steg AI. Prior to this, they were the Chief Operating Officer at The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America from January 2006 to December 2010. During their time there, they were chartered with accelerating profitable growth during 2008’s financial crisis and dramatic regulatory change. Rone had direct reports of all P&L leaders including Individual Life and Disability, Retirement (individual annuities and 401k plans), Individual Distribution and Group Insurance. Some of their accomplishments during their time as COO include leading businesses to financial success, retaining AA+ ratings, and enhancing dividend payout competitiveness while most life companies experienced losses, rating cuts, and significant dividend rate reductions. Rone also introduced a short term strategy to cope with the deep recession of 2009 and held leaders accountable for top-line growth, maintaining margins, and reducing expenses. In addition, they partnered with the CFO to initiate an Operational Excellence program to complement top-line growth programs with efforts to reduce cost and enhance service quality across all businesses. As Chief Operating Officer, Rone Baldwin devised new strategies to respond to health care reform and guided government relations to protect Guardian’s interests in health care reform and agent compensation disclosure. Rone also served on boards of industry trade associations such as AHIP and LICONY. During their time at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Rone Baldwin worked extensively with the CEO on Board matters, as well as with the CIO and CFO on investment strategy issues.

Rone Baldwin has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Physics from Amherst College.
