Courtney Collier-Beyer has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to employee relations, HR strategy, and legal counsel. Courtney is currently serving as the Vice President of Employee Relations at State Street Bank & Trust Co., where they investigate HR-related ethics concerns and develops effective policy resource tools. Before this, they worked as the Interim Director of Employee Relations at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, overseeing three departments and driving the HR strategy related to people and organizational effectiveness.
Prior to their role at HACC, they were the President at Barristers International Consulting, where they delivered expertise, resources, and guidance to help clients succeed in employee relations and management of employee grievances. Courtney also provided oversight and management of external legal services.
Earlier in their career, Courtney held roles such as Sr. Employee Relations Manager at Covance, Inc., Employee Relations Director at DeVry Medical International, and Sr. Employment Practices Partner at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. Courtney has also worked as a contractor for YOH- AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company.
Before transitioning to the private sector, Courtney worked as the Vice President and Employment Counsel in the Legal Department at SEI Investments and General Counsel at The Access Group. Courtney began their career in the legal field as a Master and Judicial Law Clerk at the Family Court of Delaware.
Throughout their career, Courtney has demonstrated expertise in employee relations, HR strategy, compliance with employment laws, and organizational effectiveness. Courtney has collaborated with clients, provided guidance to business leaders, conducted workplace investigations, and developed policies and training programs. Courtney has a strong track record of driving positive employee experiences and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Courtney Collier-Beyer began their education at Tower Hill Country Day School, where they obtained their High School Diploma in College Preparatory in 1982. Following this, they attended Guilford College from 1982 to 1986, earning their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English. In 1984, Courtney also spent a year studying at the University of Paris, Sorbonne, focusing on French language and culture. Later, they pursued their Juris Doctorate at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law from 1986 to 1989, specializing in Law.
