Penny Townsend is an experienced public health professional with a strong background in health program coordination and management. Currently serving as the School Based Health Center Coordinator for the State of Maine since September 2022, Penny previously held the position of Chief Program Officer at HOMETOWN Health Center from July 2018 to September 2022. Prior to that, Penny worked at Cianbro Corporation as Wellness Manager and at MaineGeneral Health as Business Health and Wellness Manager, where responsibilities included the oversight of Workplace Health's Business Health & Wellness Services for over 4,000 employees. Penny’s earlier career includes roles as School Health Coordinator for MSAD 48/RSU 19 and Health Teacher at Nokomis Regional High. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Health from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of New England, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
