Kelly Brown has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Starting in 2005, they worked at Brown McCarroll as a Litigation Department Assistant and later as a Litigation Support Specialist. In 2007, Kelly transitioned to the education sector and worked as a First Grade ESL Teacher at Spring Branch ISD until 2009. They then moved on to serve as a Judicial Intern at the 184th District Criminal Court for a brief period in 2010. In the same year, Kelly worked as a Research Assistant at South Texas College of Law. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Law Clerk at the Houston Community College - Office of General Counsel. Kelly then joined TruSmart Energy as a Staff Attorney/HR Manager from 2013 to 2015. Following that, they joined Houston International Insurance Group (HIIG) as a Compliance Attorney and later as Corporate Counsel from 2015 to 2019, where they handled various responsibilities related to regulatory compliance. Currently, Kelly holds the position of Vice President Compliance at State National Companies (SNC), starting in June 2019.

Kelly Brown obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin between the years 2002 and 2006. Subsequently, from 2009 to 2012, Kelly pursued a degree in Law, earning a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the South Texas College of Law Houston.
