Rachel Walker Govenar has a diverse and extensive work experience. Rachel started their career as a Specialist at Apple Retail from 2011 to 2014. Rachel then worked as a Legal Intern at Bird & Bird ATMD LLP, BBC Worldwide Americas, and Atlantic Records in 2015. In 2016, Rachel interned at The Walt Disney Studios and served as a Legal Intern - Tech Startup Clinic at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University. Rachel continued gaining legal experience as a Legal Intern at Ladas & Parry LLP in 2017 and as a Legal Fellow at Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. From 2018 to 2018, they worked as Counsel at TravelClick and played a vital role in its merger with Amadeus IT. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Compliance and Corporate Counsel at StartEngine, where they manage corporate due diligence and advises on regulatory matters.
Rachel Walker Govenar earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree in Intellectual Property Law from Cardozo School of Law in the years 2014-2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Recorded Music from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts - Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music between 2008 and 2012. Before their undergraduate studies, they completed their high school education and received an HS Diploma from the American School in London in 2008. Rachel Govenar also possesses multiple certifications, including a License to Practice Law from the State Bar of Texas (expected in 2022), a License to Practice Law - Registered In-House Counsel from the State Bar of California (obtained in 2020), and a License to Practice Law from the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Division (obtained in 2018).
