Scott Keller

SVP, Store Development & Design, APAC at Starbucks

Scott Keller is senior vice president, Store Development & Design for Starbucks Asia Pacific. Scott leads a team of specialists for growth strategy and the development and design of stores in 15 dynamic and diverse markets across the Asia Pacific region. Through a unique store development approach grounded in analytics, insights, and a commitment to locally relevant design, Scottā€™s team has increased store count across the Asia Pacific region by more than 60% during his five years in this role, with each store uniquely tailored to the neighborhood it serves.

As one of Starbucks fastest-growing regions, Asia is on the leading edge of development and design for Starbucks, exemplified by the one-of-a-kind Starbucks Dewata Coffee Sanctuary in Bali and recently-expanded Coffee Experience Center, which celebrates Indonesian coffee and the companyā€™s longstanding connection with local coffee farmers. Other regional highlights include flagship stores in Seoul, Bangkok, Gyeonggi, Bangalore, Hong Kong, and Singapore; more than 130 ReserveĀ® Bars which set the stage for connections over rare coffees; as well as expansion into dozens of cities in India and Southeast Asia.

Scott has over two decades of experience leading retail development and operations throughout Asia. Prior to returning to Starbucks in October 2016, he led the development of Appleā€™s retail stores across the region, and established and led Nikeā€™s company-owned retail store portfolio and online store in China.

In 2004, Scott became one of the Hong Kong Support Centerā€™s (HKSC) earliest Coffee Masters. He currently serves as the executive sponsor for the HKSC Pride Alliance.

A California native, Scott graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in architecture. Since 1995, he has lived across Asia, including in the cities of Shanghai, Seoul and Bangkok. He presently resides in Hong Kong with his wife, daughter, and puppy.

Scott loves travel, photography and keeping up with technology and design innovations. His favorite beverage is an Oat Milk Ristretto Latte and he enjoys exploring unique Starbucks ReserveĀ® coffees.
