Sue Campbell has over 25 years of experience in the media industry. Sue started their career as a freelance writer and editor in 1989 before joining the St. Paul Pioneer Press in 1992. At the Pioneer Press, they held various roles, including Senior Editor/Features, where they led a team of editors and reporters covering arts and entertainment, food, homes and gardens, travel, and general features topics. During their time there, they spearheaded multiple redesigns and restructurings to keep the department vital. In 2006, they were promoted to Senior Editor/Local News, where they led a team of team leaders and reporters with a digital-first mentality, covering crime, courts, communities, and politics. Sue then moved on to work at MSP Communications as the Director of Custom Editorial, creating engaging digital content for Fortune 500 clients. Sue joined Twin Cities Public Television in 2013 as the Editorial and Content Director of nextavenue.org, where they led editorial and social media strategy for a national PBS website targeting an engaged audience. Finally, since 2015, Sue has been working at Star Tribune as the AME/Features + Editorial Director of Star Tribune Magazine, where they direct content and social media strategy for the features department and leads a team of editors and reporters.

Sue Campbell earned a B.S. in English, Psychology, and Communications from Central Michigan University between 1979 and 1983. Later, they pursued an M.F.A. in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Pittsburgh from 1985 to 1989.
