Fraser Oattes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Fraser started their career at Panasonic UK in 2000 as a Design Engineer. Fraser then moved on to Instrument Transformers Ltd in 2001, where they worked as a Design Engineer until 2003. From 2003 to 2006, Fraser worked as an Operations Manager at Nesso (Engineers) Ltd. Since 2006, they have been associated with Star Refrigeration, initially working as a Design Manager and later becoming the Director of Engineering in September 2017.

Fraser Oattes attended Strathaven Academy from 1989 to 1995. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of Paisley from 1995 to 2000. At the university, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electronic Systems and also obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology with Management.
