Maria Stine has extensive experience in social work and counseling, currently serving as a School Social Worker and Trauma Counselor at Stanly County Schools since August 2014 and as the proprietor and primary therapist at The Compassion Project PLLC since October 2012. Maria also holds a part-time position as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Union Regional Home Care, providing in-home services and ensuring compliance with Medicare/Medicaid documentation. Previous roles include therapist at Talkspace from June 2017 to May 2021, elementary guidance counselor at Stanly County Schools from August 2005 to June 2014, oboist and woodwind coach for the Union Symphony Orchestra until May 2014, and adjunct instructor in applied music instruction at Catawba College from January 2005 to May 2009. Maria began the career as a PRN Medical Social Worker at Carolinas Medical Center from June 1994 to April 2008, having earned a Master's degree in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Queens University of Charlotte.
