Bárbara Barros Carlos

Robotics Engineer, Trajectory Planning & Control at Stanley Robotics

Bárbara Barros Carlos has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and research. Bárbara currently works as a Robotics Engineer in Trajectory Planning & Control at Stanley Robotics. Prior to this, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sapienza Università di Roma, where they also completed their PhD as a Student. Bárbara gained international experience as a Visiting PhD Student at both LAAS-CNRS and IMTEK, University of Freiburg. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at LIT - Laboratório de Inovação Tecnológica (IFCE) and as a Researcher at Instituto de Tecnologia da Informação e Comunicação - ITIC, where they contributed to the development of an autopilot using BeagleBone Black. Bárbara also served as an Undergraduate Intern at Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Ceará, and as an Education Robotics Teacher at Instituto de Tecnologia da Informação e Comunicação - ITIC.

Bárbara Barros Carlos pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting in 2013 and ending in 2021. Bárbara obtained their bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Ceará from 2013 to 2017. Following this, they enrolled at the Sapienza Università di Roma, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Automatica, Bioingegneria e Ricerca Operativa from 2017 to 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Bárbara Barros Carlos obtained several certifications. In May 2018, they obtained a certification in Model Predictive Control (MPC) from the Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca. Bárbara also acquired a certification in Numerical Methods for Optimal Control from the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca in May 2020. In December 2017, Bárbara completed a certification in Robotics: Aerial Robotics from Coursera. Furthermore, in May 2012, they obtained a certification in 6.002x: Circuits and Electronics from edX.
