Pulakesh Mukherjee is a highly experienced professional in the fields of venture capital and sustainability. As the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Imperative Ventures since December 2019, Mukherjee focuses on providing strategic capital and expertise to hard tech decarbonization startups. Mukherjee also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Energy Science & Engineering at Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. Prior roles include Principal at BASF Venture Capital, where Mukherjee invested in innovative technologies related to chemistry, and numerous board member positions at companies such as ESS, Inc., and Solidia Technologies, Inc. Mukherjee's academic credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from Stanford University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Basel.
