Monroe Kennedy III is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering and a courtesy faculty member in Computer Science at Stanford University, where Monroe leads the Assistive Robotics and Manipulation Laboratory (ARM Lab) since September 2019. Prior experience includes serving as Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and as a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania from August 2012 to March 2019, focusing on enhancing the capabilities of robotic mobile manipulators in unstructured environments. Earlier positions include Technical Aid at MITRE, and multiple research internships at the University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Monroe holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Robotics from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
