Kimathi Marangu is a Fellow at Stanford’s Distinguished Careers Institute and serves as Vice Chairman and Audit Committee Chair of SamCERA, a $6 billion pension fund. Previously, Kimathi was the Global Head of Prepaid at Visa, leading a business catering to various global clients. An accomplished fintech entrepreneur, Kimathi co-founded Cartera Commerce and played a pivotal role in launching the official Cyber Monday website for the National Retail Federation. Kimathi holds an A.B. in Economics from Vassar College and an MBA from Stanford Business School, and is an advocate for education, having held leadership positions with both Vassar College and Stanford Business School Alumni Association. Additionally, Kimathi is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has served on the Board of the American Red Cross Bay Area.
