Chico Garcia was appointed to the Board of Education on January 23, 2019. Over the past 18 years, he has served in numerous roles at Front Range Community College, including Director of Academic Advising before his current role as the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Online.

Chico has served as the Parent Liaison for Leadership St. Vrain and on the SVVSD 2016 Bond Committee Task Force. He has volunteered as a coach for multiple sports for the past 20 years in the Carbon Valley, and also started a Watch D.O.G.S (Dads Of Great Students) program at Frederick Elementary.

Chico was born and raised in the Tri-Town area and, as a graduate of Frederick High School, he serves as a proud member of the Frederick High School Alumni Association. He is focused on continuous improvement and making SVVSD the best it can be for the community they serve.

Chico completed his B.A. at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, before receiving his Masters of Education in Organizational Performance and Change from Colorado State University.
