John Hegelmeyer is an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching history and Spanish. Currently serving as a teacher at St. Anthony School Milwaukee since July 2023, John previously held the position of high school teacher at St. Anthony's High School for a brief period in July 2023. From August 1994 to July 2023, John worked at Milwaukee Public Schools, where responsibilities included developing engaging lesson plans, creating curriculum for advanced placement courses, and leading professional development for AP educators. John has collaborated with colleagues on curriculum development, adapted instruction to meet diverse learner needs, and served on various academic committees. Additionally, John has a proven track record as a chess coach, leading teams to city and state victories. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
