Heather Boyd is a Senior Researcher and head of section at Statens Serum Institut, a position held since November 2004, where Boyd leads a research group focused on the epidemiology of pregnancy and delivery complications and their associations with chronic diseases, including cardiovascular and renal diseases, as well as inflammatory diseases. Prior to this role, Boyd served as a Guest Researcher in the Division of Parasitic Diseases at the CDC in Atlanta from 1999 to 2004, conducting research on the spatial distribution of Wuchereria bancrofti infection in Haiti. Boyd holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Epidemiology from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Microbiology (Honours) from the University of Alberta.
