Norman Johnston is an accomplished Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive experience in offshore installations and renewable energy projects. Currently serving as the Principal Engineer for Offshore Installations at SSEN Transmission, Johnston supports the technical governance of significant offshore high voltage transmission projects, including HVDC and HVAC substations. Previous roles include serving as Senior Principal Engineer and Engineering Manager at Kent, and various management positions at Thistle Wind Partners and Seaway 7, where responsibilities encompassed the design, construction, and delivery of offshore wind projects and subsea engineering. Earlier career highlights include leadership roles at Subsea 7 and Hydrasun, focusing on engineering design, procurement, and project management for subsea oil and gas projects. Johnston holds a Master's degree from Edinburgh Napier University and is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
