Instrument Scientist And NWO Veni Fellow at SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research

Pieter de Visser is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in space research and detector technology. Currently serving as an Instrument Scientist and NWO Veni fellow at SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research since January 2016, Pieter focuses on energy resolving visible/near-infrared MKID detectors to investigate exoplanet atmospheres and enhance single-photon wavefront sensing. Previous roles include postdoctoral fellowships at Université de Genève and TU Delft, where Pieter worked on various microscopy techniques and contributed to advancements in superconducting detector research during a PhD program at TU Delft, graduated cum laude. Pieter's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology, alongside early teaching experience at the same institution.
