Luis-Fernando Contreras is an accomplished geotechnical engineer with extensive experience in the consulting field. Currently serving as an Associate Corporate Consultant at SRK Consulting since February 2020, Luis-Fernando previously held the positions of Principal Consultant in Johannesburg and Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Chile. Their academic background includes a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from The University of Queensland, where research focused on Bayesian methods for addressing geotechnical uncertainty in risk-based design of open pit slopes. Additionally, Luis-Fernando holds a Master of Science in Engineering Geology from the University of Twente and a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
