Alex Drynkin

Head of R&D – BioMicroLab product range at SPT Labtech

Alex Drynkin has extensive work experience in mechanical design engineering and product development. Alex is currently the Head of R&D for the BioMicroLab product range at SPT Labtech since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for the same product range from January 2021 to May 2021. Alex spent a significant portion of their career at BioMicroLab Inc., where they held the position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer from July 2004 to January 2021. In this role, they were responsible for the entire mechanical aspect of product development for the BioMicroLab XL product line, including concept development, design, testing, and production handover. Alex also managed the manufacturing processes at in-house CNC machine and sheet metal shops. Before joining BioMicroLab Inc., Alex worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at CopyPro Inc. from March 1995 to July 2004. Alex started their professional career as an Electronics Technician/Assembler at Enigma Logic Inc. from September 1994 to March 1995. Additionally, they gained customer service experience at Shell from January 1994 to June 1994. Overall, Alex has a strong background in mechanical design engineering and has played a crucial role in product development throughout their career.

Alex Drynkin attended Volgograd State Technical University from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. During their time at the university, they also pursued studies at the Faculty of Engineering Training, specializing in Marketing and Management and earning a second Bachelor of Science degree in the same field from 1991 to 1993.

In terms of additional certifications, Alex received the Certified SolidWorks Professional - Advanced Sheet Metal Specialist certification from Dassault Systèmes in November 2012. Alex also obtained the Certified SolidWorks Professional - Mechanical Design certification from the same institution in June 2012.
