Fernando Chirigati has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to 2020. Fernando is currently the Editor In Chief of Nature Computational Science, a Nature Research journal focused on computational methods and tools for solving real-world problems. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, conducting research on computational science. Fernando also had research assistant roles at NYU, focusing on Ph.D. research and projects related to data management. Fernando has also interned at Google Research, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, and VisTrails Inc., gaining experience in various research settings.
Fernando Chirigati completed their education in a chronological manner. Fernando started by earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, attending from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they also participated in a program at the University of Central Florida, focusing on Computer Engineering for a year in 2010. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where they attained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science, studying from 2012 to 2016.
