Julianna Ponce has held a variety of roles in the medical and retail industries since 2013. In 2013, they worked as a Research Intern at the Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland, where they researched and compiled data on various health topics and presented their findings to doctors and other interns. In 2014, they volunteered as a tutor at 826 Valencia, teaching science to students ages 6 through 12 and helping to facilitate field trips around San Francisco. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Sales Associate at Icing by Claires, assisting customers, ringing up purchases, and performing body modifications on customers. During this same time period, they also worked as a Sales Associate at Orangetheory Fitness. From 2015 to 2020, Julianna worked as a Programmer at Sonoma State University Student Involvement Department, creating programs, planning and marketing, and coordinating with various departments. In 2020, they held two medical assistant roles, one at Spring Fertility and one at Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology. At Spring Fertility, they performed routine patient assessments, prepared and assisted physicians with oocyte retrieval, embryo transfers, and other procedures, and scheduled appointments. At Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology, they worked alongside physicians in a high paced environment, helping with both clinical and administrative duties. Julianna also held a Medical Assistant Externship at NEW MD & URGENT CARE in 2020.

Julianna Ponce obtained a Medical Assistant certificate from CALREGIONAL - PETALUMA ADULT SCHOOL in 2020. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelors in Spanish Language and Literature from Sonoma State University between 2013 and 2018. In 2014 and 2015, they studied abroad at the University of Jaén, focusing on Spanish Language. In addition, they obtained a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) in February 2020 and a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification from the California Department of Public Health in May 2021.
