Vanessa Williams

Principal Engineer at SpotHero

Vanessa Williams has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 1993 when they were a Developer for the University of Toronto's Dynamic Graphics Project. Vanessa then went on to become the CTO for MacLaren McCann Interactive from 1996 until early 2004. In 2005, they co-founded and became the Chief Architect of Oponia Networks, Inc. Afterwards, they were a Team Lead (Contract) for RAD International in 2007 and a Software Engineer (Contract) for the Computational Biology Lab at the University of Toronto in 2010. In the same year, they were a Development Manager for SQL Power Group Inc. and a Team Manager and Product Owner for Kobo Inc. in 2011. From 2012 to 2019, they were the Principal Software Engineer and Technical Product Owner for ThoughtWire, where they were responsible for the architectural vision of the company's offerings and the platform roadmap. Currently, they are the Principal Engineer for SpotHero.

Vanessa Williams attended the University of Waterloo from 1980 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Mathematics degree with a concentration in Computer Science (Honours, Co-op).
