Rui Gomes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in information systems and healthcare technology. Currently serving as a member of the Comissão Executiva de Segurança da Informação da Saúde at SPMS, EPE since January 2024, Rui Gomes has held the position of Head of Information Systems at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra since September 2017, where responsibilities include directing the IS Department for effective digital transformation in healthcare. Rui Gomes has also served as an IT Advisor to the Administration Board for the European Commission and as an Expert Evaluator for Horizon 2020 projects. Additionally, Rui Gomes has contributed to ENISA as a member of the eHealth Security Group, focusing on cybersecurity in healthcare. An academic background includes roles as a Guest Associate Professor at Instituto Politécnico de Leiria and Invited Professor at ISCTE. Educational qualifications encompass a Master's degree in Medical Informatics from Porto University and ongoing doctoral studies in Business Administration at ISCTE Business School.
