Sacha Hony has a strong background in data science and research, with experience at various organizations. In 2003, they worked as a Research Fellow at the European Space Agency, conducting independent research. From 2005 to 2006, they held a fixed-term research position in astrophysics at the Instituut voor sterrenkunde - K.U.Leuven, focusing on code development for radiative transfer computer simulations. Sacha then worked as an Astrophysics Research Project Coordinator at CEA from 2006 to 2012, where they led projects and performed data analysis on large datasets from space telescopes. They subsequently worked at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy as a Visiting Scientist in 2013. From 2014 to 2015, they held a fixed-term research position at the University of Heidelberg, working in collaboration with other researchers. At the same university, Sacha served as a Research Project Leader from 2016 to 2018, conducting independent research on star forming regions and star formation in external galaxies. Before joining their current role, Sacha was self-employed as a Research Consultant from 2019 to 2020. They are currently employed as a Data Scientist at Splio since April 2022.
Sacha Hony completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Astrophysics from the University of Amsterdam from 1992 to 1998. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astrophysics from the same institution, which they completed between 1998 and 2002.
