Austin Helms, CSP, holds a BS in Botany from Texas State University and has extensive experience in safety management and environmental health. Currently serving as the Sr. Safety Manager at Spin since February 2020, Austin has developed a comprehensive internal safety management program for the micromobility industry, implementing standard operating procedures across 60 locations in the US and Europe. Previous roles include Sr. Safety Specialist at Velodyne LiDAR, where Austin established EHS programs for three locations, and at Tesla, where Austin significantly reduced incident rates and initiated the global behavior-based safety program "Find It, Fix It." Additional experience includes managing audits and risk management programs at Rowan Companies, environmental assessments at W&M Environmental Group, and agricultural education initiatives during service in the United States Peace Corps.
