Patrick Long serves as a Senior R&D Manager at Spectrum Brands, Inc. since May 2008, leading a formulation team responsible for the development of various product formulations for EPA and consumer cleaning products. In this role, Patrick manages and trains formulation chemists, coordinates multiple R&D projects while ensuring adherence to timelines, oversees quality control through stability studies, and ensures regulatory compliance. Patrick also collaborates with cross-functional departments and presents project statuses to senior leadership. Prior experience includes roles at Spectrum Brands as R&D Manager, Senior Chemist, Chemist II, and Chemist I, as well as serving as a Student Research Chemist at Valparaiso University, where foundational skills in organic synthesis and analytical techniques were developed. Patrick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Valparaiso University, earned in 2008.
