David Trachy has over 40 years of work experience in the technology industry. David started their career at StorageTek in 1979, where they designed hardware and software for disk drive testers and eventually became a firmware manager. In 1987, they joined Masstron Inc. as the head of firmware development, where they developed software for a mass-spectrometer used in anesthesia monitoring.
Trachy returned to StorageTek in 1989 and worked as a firmware developer for their Automated Library Control System. David later became a firmware manager, leading the development of embedded code for tape robotic library products. During this time, they facilitated the development of an object-oriented architecture that formed the basis for two product lines.
In 2000, Trachy became a product futures evangelist at StorageTek, presenting product futures to customers to assure long-term investment in research and development. David then took on the role of leader of continuous data protection, managing the development of the industry's first CDP product and leading a software engineering and test team.
Trachy joined SUN MicroSystems in 2006, where they initially served as the director of innovation, fostering innovation in a large engineering organization. David later became the director of flash-based storage systems, overseeing the development of a high bandwidth/low latency enterprise class storage system.
In 2011, Trachy joined Spectra Logic as the senior director of emerging markets, responsible for the conceptualization, development, and deployment of innovative big-data storage systems. David formed a high-powered team of architects and developers focused on cutting-edge solutions.
With their extensive experience in firmware development, product management, and innovation, Trachy has demonstrated a strong track record of success throughout their career.
David Trachy received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northern Arizona University. David completed their studies from 1974 to 1979.
