Imtiaz Khan is a Senior ACS Consultant at Special Patient Manager. Imtiaz has dedicated their career to helping those with visual impairments and physical disabilities find employment.
In 2007, Khan began working as the Manager of the Avaya Incubator at United Way of New York State. There, they provided training and guidance on IT and human resources for corporations hoping to develop a more diverse workforce. Imtiaz advocated on behalf of individuals with disabilities, helping them to overcome obstacles in the workplace and securing accommodations such as JAWS, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, ZoomText, and Braille displays. Khan customized systems based on individual needs, allowing employees with disabilities to perform the same tasks as their able-bodied coworkers.
Khan also implemented learning management systems to allow for distance classroom participation and converted employer training materials into accessible online formats. As a result of their efforts, student enrollment increased and job placement metrics improved. In addition, they trained students with visual impairments on various software applications, resulting in over 100 job placements.
Khan’s dedication to helping those with disabilities has made him an invaluable asset to their community. Their work has helped countless individuals to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
Imtiaz Khan has a degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, and a certification from Temple University. Imtiaz also has a certification from The State University of New York in Private Business School Teacher. Finally, they have a certification from National Industries for the Blind in Accredited Professional Mastery of Office Technology for Employment (ProMOTE) Instructor, and a certification from Freedom Scientific in Certified Assistive Technology Level II Script Programmer.
