SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics GmbH (SPD) is a world leader in the research, design and supply of advanced consumer diagnostic products. SPD was formed in 2007 as a joint venture between Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Alere (now a part of the Abbott group, since October 2017).

Our research centre is at the cutting edge of innovation, and is fully engaged in the development of reliable diagnostic products to empower women on their reproductive journey.

SPD’s headquarters is in Geneva, Switzerland, and our Innovation Centre is in Bedford, UK.  We also have a site in Shanghai, China.  SPD employs more than 180 people.

The Product Design and Development team at SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics is responsible for the research, design, and engineering of innovative, consumer-centric diagnostic products. This includes developing reliable home pregnancy and fertility monitoring tests like Clearblue® that are accurate, user-friendly, and meet the evolving needs of consumers.
