Imtiaz Khamissa has a long history of working in the IT industry. Imtiaz began their career in 1991 as a Software Developer (Trainee) for Peter Kroon Software. In 1992, they moved to Guardian National Insurance (GNI) as a Programmer and Computer Operator. In 1995, they became the Owner and Entrepreneur of Electronic & Cellular Mart. In 2008, they joined Spartan Technology Rentals as an Account Manager - Long Term Rental Finance. In 2009, they moved to Innovent Rental & Asset Management Solutions as a Business Development Executive. Finally, in 2010, they joined Spartan as an Intrapreneur & Sales Manager - Short Term Hire Division and Account Manager.

Imtiaz Khamissa's education history includes a Matric from Damelin in 1990, a National Diploma in Cobol Programming and Concepts of Data Processing from the IT Association in 1993, and Programming in Cobol from Van Zyl & Pritchard in 1991. Imtiaz has also completed courses in Job Control Language, Long & Short Term Insurance, Ideal (Programming Language), Emotional Intelligence, and The High Impact Manager from Spartan Learning Nucleus since 2011.
