Kurt Nelson has extensive work experience in the food service industry, with a focus on sales and marketing. Kurt is currently the Vice President of Sales at Sparboe Companies, a position they assumed in May 2021. Prior to this, they held the same role at a consulting firm in the food service industry since November 2020.
From 2016 to 2020, Kurt worked at US Foods as the Vice President of Culinary Equipment & Supplies. During their tenure, they led a team of 250 employees and was responsible for implementing sales and marketing strategies. Kurt also optimized distribution and oversaw $500,000,000 in annual sales.
Before that, Kurt held various roles at US Foods, including Vice President Sales & Marketing for Culinary Equipment & Supplies, Vice President Sales, and Vice President Marketing. Kurt started their career at US Foods in 1995 as a Sales Coordinator and progressively took on more responsibilities over the years.
Kurt Nelson holds a Master's Certificate in Foodservice Management from the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, which they obtained in 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Industries and Marketing-Food Industries at the University of Minnesota. In addition to their formal education, Kurt has also obtained certifications in Ecommerce Fundamentals and Six Sigma: Green Belt from LinkedIn, which they achieved in February 2021.
