Silvana Mouron is a highly experienced scientist specializing in cancer research, currently serving as a Staff Scientist in the Breast Cancer Clinical Research Unit at the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO) since February 2015. Mouron's earlier roles at CNIO included contributions to understanding the role of RINGO proteins in genotoxic responses and tumorigenesis and the function of PrimPol in DNA replication and damage response. Previous experience involved studying the Laforin-Malin complex's role in Lafora disease and HPV's involvement in cervical carcinogenesis. Mouron earned a PhD in Natural Sciences from Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, with a strong academic foundation in Biological Sciences, where the focus included zoology and ecology.
