Lydia Thelma Poluha

Phd Student At CNIO - Melanoma Lab at CNIO - Spanish National Cancer Research Centre

Lydia Thelma Poluha is a dedicated researcher currently serving as a PhD student at the Melanoma Lab of the CNIO - Spanish National Cancer Research Centre since April 2021. Lydia's research focuses on the immune system's role in obesity and metabolic syndrome, including the investigation of the Aim2 inflammasome in mice fed a high-fat diet. Prior to this role, Lydia held positions as a pre-doctoral research assistant, master's student, and undergraduate research assistant at various institutions, including the CNIO and The University of Salford, where projects involved studying exosomes related to Echinococcus infections and the mTOR pathway in telomere-shortened mice. Lydia holds a master's degree in Molecular Biomedicine from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a degree in Human Biology and Infectious Diseases from The University of Salford.
