Tom Brown

Mission Head For Hubble Space Telescope at Space Telescope Science Institute

Tom Brown is an accomplished astrophysicist with extensive experience in leading significant telescope missions, particularly as Mission Head for both the James Webb Space Telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope at the Space Telescope Science Institute since June 2001. Tom has held various roles, including Astronomer, Mission Scientist for the James Webb Space Telescope, and Instrument Scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope. Prior to this, Tom worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from April 1997 to June 2001 and held academic positions, such as Adjunct Professor at Loyola College. Tom earned both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Astrophysics from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astrophysics from Penn State University.
