Sitko has extensive experience in the field of astronomy and astrophysics, currently serving as a Research Scientist at the Space Science Institute since July 2005 and as a Professor at the University of Cincinnati since September 1986. Sitko earned a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1977 and 1980.
