Jara Villanueva is an accomplished professional specializing in remote sensing and geospatial technologies, currently serving as the Head of the Service Consulting Unit and Remote Sensing Specialist Lead at Axelspace Corporation since April 2020. Villanueva also holds leadership roles with the Space Generation Advisory Council as Co-Lead for Space Technology for Earth Applications (STEA) since June 2024, and as Public Outreach & Communications Co-Lead with Women+ in Geospatial since September 2023. Recently, Villanueva worked as a Consultant and Geospatial Expert for FAO, contributing to global food security initiatives. Previous experience includes significant roles in developing spaceborne optical sensors, enhancing photogrammetry workflows, and engaging in disaster management efforts through various organizations. Jara Villanueva holds a Master’s Degree in Geoinformatics Engineering from the University of the Philippines and has completed specialized courses at prestigious institutions, including Harvard University and the Asian Institute of Technology.
