Mark Nault started their work experience in 1978 with the U.S. Navy, where they served as a Submarine Force Officer (Gold Dolphins) until 2001. Mark then joined Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. in 2001 as a Program Manager. In 2004, Mark became the Owner of Taste Restaurant, a role they held until 2007.

Mark Nault has a diverse education history. Mark started their education at Central Catholic Lawrence in MA, where they completed their high school education from 1970 to 1974. Following this, they attended the United States Naval Academy from 1974 to 1978, although their specific field of study and degree earned are unknown.

Later on, they pursued their education in the field of Information Technology Management at the Naval Postgraduate School from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree. Finally, in 1997 to 1998, they attended the U.S. Army War College, earning a certificate in International Military Affairs.
