Ruth Kennedy has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Ruth began their career as the Medicaid Deputy Director at the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals in 1999 and held this role until 2012. From 2012 to 2016, they served as the Medicaid Director at the same organization. In 2016, they joined the La Department of Health & Hospitals as the Medicaid Expansion Project Director. In 2017, they transitioned to the role of Health Policy Director at Southern Strategy Group - Louisiana. Overall, Ruth has extensive experience in Medicaid administration and has also been involved in policy development.

Ruth Kennedy pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Welfare from Southeastern Louisiana University between 1975 and 1979.
