Matthew Merrell has a diverse work experience in scientific research and project management. Matthew worked as a Senior Scientist and Study Director at Southern Research, where they held various positions including Project Manager, Project Leader, and Associate Project Leader. Prior to their work at Southern Research, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University - School of Medicine. Matthew also has experience as a Graduate Student at The University of Arizona - College of Pharmacy.

Matthew Merrell obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University from 1997 to 2005. Matthew then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona, completing their degree from 2005 to 2010.
