April Underwood is an experienced engineering professional specializing in protection and control applications in the electric power industry. Currently serving as a Protection & Control Applications Project Manager and previously as a Protection & Control Applications Engineer at Southern Company since June 2015, April Underwood designs protective relay and control schemes, develops protective relay settings, and provides consulting services in power system and protection engineering. Prior to this role, April Underwood worked at Florida Power & Light Company from June 2012 to May 2015 as a Protection & Control Engineer, focused on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protective relay control systems, along with compliance documentation and resource management. April Underwood holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (2009-2011).
