Phil Lay has extensive experience in the electrical engineering field, currently serving as a Statutory Electrical Engineer at South32 since November 2018, where previous roles included Maintenance & Surface Infrastructure Superintendent. Prior to this, Phil worked at GlencoreXstrata Plc from 2011 to November 2018 as a Surface Coordinator. Phil’s career also includes significant tenures at BHP Billiton from 2001 to 2011 in various leadership roles, such as Electrical Maintenance & Reliability Superintendent and Central Mechanical Superintendent, along with early experience at BlueScope Steel as an Electrical Engineer from 1989 to 2001. Educational qualifications encompass a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focused on Leadership & Organisational Development from Edith Cowan University and an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Illawarra Institute of Technology.
