Brent Musslewhite is an experienced professional in environmental management and permitting with a career spanning over two decades in the mining and environmental sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Environment & Permitting at South32 since August 2019, Brent leads the environmental and permitting team for the Hermosa Project in Southern Arizona, focusing on complex environmental strategies and regulatory compliance. Prior to this role, Brent held various positions at BHP Billiton from May 2004 to August 2019, including Manager of Legacy Assets and Manager of Environmental Services. Brent's early career includes roles at Western Research Institute Ltd and Buchanan Consultants, specializing in soil science. Brent holds a Master of Science in Soil Science with a focus on Environmental Science from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor of Science in Soil Science from New Mexico State University.
