Barry Bezuidenhout began their work experience at BHP in 2000, holding various roles until their departure in 2015. In 2010, they joined South32 as a Mine Manager and later took on the role of General Manager Operations from 2016 to 2022. Currently, Barry serves as the Vice President of Operations at South32.

Barry Bezuidenhout holds a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) degree in Leadership from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, which they completed from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Black Belt in Six Sigma from Destra in 2006. In 2003, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Mineral Economics (GDE) from the University of the Witwatersrand, after finishing their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Bsc Eng) in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the same university in 2000.
