Gian Autenrieth is a seasoned professional in the renewable energy sector with extensive experience spanning over a decade. Currently serving as Co-Lead of the D-REC Initiative since January 2020, Gian is instrumental in developing market instruments that enable small-scale renewable energy sources to certify their social and environmental impacts. In a dual role at South Pole since February 2016, Gian has contributed as a Senior Advisor focused on renewable energy funding and platforms, while also managing and developing a diverse portfolio of renewable energy solutions across various regions including Southeast Asia, China, India, MENA, and Latin America. Previously, Gian held roles in consulting for carbon assessment services and accreditation in higher education. Gian holds a Master of Science in Geography from the University of Zurich.
