Vivek Soni is a Data Scientist at Soothsayer Analytics. Vivek previously worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at Wayne State University from January 2017 to May 2018, where they developed robust and intelligent methods for predicting the Expected Length of Stay for Emergency Department Patients of veteran hospitals in the United States using Machine Learning Algorithms. Vivek also applied two different algorithms for this problem. First was for predicting Length of stay for patients in the Emergency Department by using Regression, Decision tree, Neural Networks algorithms. The second problem was to classify whether a patient will get admitted or discharged using classification algorithms like SVM, naive Bayes, logistic regression, Decision tree. The goal was to embed such algorithms into operational intelligence platforms that can help streamline patient flow within the hospital to reduce congestion and associated negative outcomes.
Soni's tools include Python, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Jupyterlab. Vivek also has experience as a Student Assistant at Aramark from June 2016 to May 2017.
Vivek Soni has a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedbabad, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedbabad. Vivek also has certification from Coursera in Convolutional Neural Networks, Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), and Structuring Machine Learning Projects.
