Skylar Penland is a dedicated and experienced individual in the film and media industry, currently serving as a Global Scripted Development & Programming Intern at Sony Pictures Entertainment since September 2024. Previously held multiple roles, including a Sergent-at-Arms at Delta Kappa Alpha, and as the President and Founder of Women in Film Chapman, fostering a gender-inclusive community for filmmakers. Skylar gained valuable experience as a TV Development Intern at Mandalay Entertainment Group and as a Paid Script Reader and Development Intern at Manage-ment, where responsibilities included script coverage and project research. Additionally, served as an Associate Programmer at the Newport Beach Film Festival, screening films and managing communications with filmmakers. Skylar is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screenwriting and Playwriting at Chapman University, expecting to graduate in May 2025.
